Financial Education and School Branches
Building financial security through education

Financial Education

Financial responsibility is a lifelong lesson.  Red River Credit Union offers financial courses, presentations, and workshops as an outreach for students (pre-K through 12th grade) and the adult community in our field of membership areas.
We also host reality fairs for students to practice making choices about housing, transportation, food, clothing, etc. with a limited amount of income. It is imperative for everyone to understand budgeting, how crucial their credit score is, the dangers of identity theft, and so much more.

Financial education is a learned skill, just like any other class a student would study in high school. On average, individuals who complete the financial program spend less money on wants and save twice as much as those who have not received financial knowledge!  We offer a variety of financial topics to target specific needs and interests, including:

•    Essential Banking Basics
•    Budgeting
•    Using Credit Wisely
•    Identity Theft
•    Taxes 101

If you would like to learn more about this service or to set up a class or reality fair, email our Business Development & Student Services Coordinator, Emily Bright at ebright@rrfcu.com or 903-735-3000.
